Oh my! Stretch goal 2 unlocked!
OK, folks, it's day 8 and we have Stretch Goal No. 2! We are bowled over by the support the yarny community is demonstrating for The Woolly Good Gathering and our ethos of a small, community focused, collaborative and cooperative approach. Meeting this new stretch goal means that we can create a physical programme for all attendees, with lovely illustrated maps, suggestions for places to shop or eat beyond the festival, our special shawl patterns (one knit, one crochet), a few articles and your guide to what is where. We are exploring an approachable 'zine' design with this, using ethical print and paper choices.
Our next stretch goals are bigger and driven by our values. Stretch Goal No. 3 at £16,800 would provide a specific fund to support the travel needs of speakers and workshop providers who are coming to Edinburgh from further afield. Stretch Goal No. 4 at £18,800 would provide an even more generous travel and accommodation grant fund that we already have provisioned for BIPOC vendors, speakers and workshop providers. This is all part of our commitment to addressing historic exclusion of ethnically diverse makers in craft spaces and is based on recommendations from the Craft Expertise Research report. If you want to know more about why this is important to us, take a look at our Values and FAQs on the Kickstarter or website.
