Learn the ancient style of Swedish Crochet Nålebinding and help keep an historical, almost lost technique alive. Students will be making a small mitten using Scottish wool.

Skills Required

Intermediate

Must be confident with basic crochet skills, such as chaining, dc (UK tr), sc (UK dc), sl st. All other techniques will be taught in class.

Materials Required

All materials provided, including 100% Scottish wool, similar to what would have been used traditionally, stitch marker, hook, printed class notes with detailed photo tutorials, pattern for making full sized mittens.

Teacher Biography

Merrian's wavy brown hair is swept to the side, her eyes are bright and she is smiling.

Merrian is a full-time crochet teacher and designer with a background in design and e-commerce. She has a particular love of making and designing motif-based garments with natural fibres and hand dyed yarns. Merrian encourages her students to be adventurous with their crochet to create unique items they can be proud of.
