Do you fancy knitting delicate and beautiful lace, but it looks complicated and daunting? In this workshop, Samira will show you how lace knitting works, how to knit lace, how to lace pattern instructions and charts, and trouble shooting skills so that you can tackle any lace project with confidence.

This workshop is suitable for knitters who already know how to cast on, knit and purl.
Material required
Please bring:
50g of lace weight yarn (the scarf can be made longer if you wish to use 100g) OR some 4ply or DK if you would like to learn lace techniques using thicker yarn, especially for your first practice (if unsure, feel free to bring both and see how it goes) Note: If you wish to use yarn just bought at Woolly Good please make sure it is wound up and ready to use before the class.
Needles: 3.5mm needles if using lace yarn, 4.5mm if using 4ply, 5.5mm if using DK

Teacher biography
Samira Hill, aka Eildon Hills Designs, is a professional knitting and crochet tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience in many subjects, from beginners to advanced levels, and from young children to adults of all abilities, in the Scottish Borders as well as in events and retreats throughout Scotland. Aside from teaching, Samira is also a knitting and crochet technical editor, designer, and the organiser of Tangled Galashiels Fibre Festival.
