Learn Fair Isle knitting with expert knitter, Helen Chatterton. You will learn the techniques of Fair Isle knitting on four double pointed needles and how to read charts.

You will start to knit a lavender bag and go away with the materials to finish it at home, including yarn and a small lavender pouch.

Skills required

Intermediate

This workshop is suitable for knitters who already know how to use four DPNs, cast off and knit in the round. 

Materials required

All materials will be provided, including yarn and lavender.

Teacher biography

Helen Chatterton teaches hand knitting from her home studio in Edinburgh, where she also runs Helen Chatterton Textiles. With a wealth of experience in a wide range of teaching situations, she currently runs small classes covering Learn to Knit, Fair Isle knitting, Finishing Techniques and Sock knitting. Her classes are small, full notes and materials are provided.

Her aim is that everyone leaves her class with the techniques covered and more importantly a love of hand knitting.
